For centuries, certain mushrooms have been valued in traditional practices for their unique properties. From Reishi, often associated with moments of calm to Lion’s Mane which may support cognitive and mental performance and Shiitake known for its deep-rooted history of use - each brings something special to the table.

Blending these mushrooms into raw Peruvian cacao means we no longer have to compromise taste over function which is exactly why we started luma.

And because we get asked a lot: all our bars are made with non-psychedelic functional mushrooms.

Handcrafted with love

We handcraft every one of our chocolates ourselves, giving us a deep connection with the ingredients and allowing us to put a lot of love into the process. We think you can taste it!

Back to nature

We believe that natures knows best. To nourish our bodies in the best way possible we only use natural ingredients grown in chemical free environments. We wanted to say goodbye to harmful additives and artificial flavours and get back to our natural roots. 

Transparency 

We choose suppliers carefully and only source ingredients from businesses who match our own values. Our ingredients are organic, high-quality, ethically sourced and wherever possible, local. 

Caring for our planet

It may sound obvious, but we need to protect our planet! There really is no alternative. We take that responsibility seriously and although we’re only small, we can have a big impact. You can read more about the ways we do that on our sustainability statement.

Our Story

We are Janina and Alex—two friends brought together in 2024 by our shared fascination and love for mushrooms. Our journey began with the idea of growing mushrooms, but along the way, we found ourselves frustrated with the functional mushroom products on the market. Bitter powders and tinctures that ruined the taste of our morning coffee didn’t feel like the right way to enjoy their benefits.

At the same time, we were already captivated by ceremonial cacao and often dreamed of a kind of chocolate that was not only delicious but truly good for you—something worlds apart from the sugary options lining supermarket shelves. That’s when Janina, our resident food magician, stepped into her kitchen in Cornwall and created something extraordinary: mushroom chocolate! Meanwhile, Alex, an ex-neuroscientist, was diving into the science of mushrooms, carefully researching which adaptogens to combine for maximum effect. What emerged was a deliciously potent chocolate bar, rooted in science, infused with magic.

It was the perfect combination of two things we love, crafted with the purest ingredients and brimming with goodness. And just like that, a simple idea turned into something magical.
